2024 Kentucky Soil Erosion and Water Quality Cost Share Program

The Franklin County Conservation District is accepting 2024 Kentucky Soil Erosion and Water Quality Cost Share Program and Soil Stewardship Program applications.  The cutoff date for this year's applications is coming up in November. 

 

There must be an agricultural water quality plan on file here at the conservation district and a farm number listed with the Farm Service Agency to be eligible. State Cost Share offers 75% reimbursement of the installation costs for eligible practices, up to $20,000 annually. This is a statewide competitive application process for financial assistance from these programs.

Practices eligible for cost share are agriculture and animal waste control facilities; animal waste utilization; vegetative filter strips; integrated crop management; pesticide containment; sinkhole protection; pasture and hay land forage quality; heavy use area protection; rotational grazing system establishment; water well protection; forest land and cropland erosion control systems; closure of agriculture waste impoundment; on-farm fallen animal composting; soil health management; precision nutrient management; strip intercropping system; livestock stream crossing and riparian area protection.
